PAYMENT

Visa or Mastercard are accepted via online booking or phone.

Cheques should be made payable to Academy of Sail and mailed to 6 Carlson Drive, North Haven 5018.

Direct Deposit facilities are available. Please ask.

DEPOSIT

50% of the prescribed fee is required to confirm the booking.

The balance is payable 5 days prior to departure.

CANCELLATION

Prior to 30 days departure a $50 booking fee. Within 30 days of departure - 50% of charter fee.

If you cannot give 30 days notice for cancellation or 14 days notice for postponement the deposit will be forfeited and NO REFUNDS AVAILABLE WITHOUT EXCEPTION. If a student or passenger leaves the yacht or does not complete a course or sailing trip before the scheduled completion date for whatever reason NO REFUNDS are given.

POSTPONEMENT

Postponement allowed with 14 days notice, or in the case of bad weather, otherwise it is treated as a cancellation. Drizzle or occassional light rain does not constitute bad weather but pouring rain, thunderstorms and lightning does. In other words, "Postponement under 14 days for drizzle, light rain or cold weather is treated as cancellation.

RESCHEDULING A BOOKING AFTER AN APPROVED POSTPONEMENT

In the case of an approved postponement, rescheduled charters must take place within 6 months of the original date booked. The deposit will be held by Academy of Sail. The full amount of any catering not cancelled before 8am the day prior to booking will be charged for.

WHAT TO WEAR

Black soled shoes are not allowed aboard as they mark the boat. Sandshoes are OK, tennis shoes are Better, Boat shoes are Best!!

Daytime: Bring hat, sunscreen, sunglasses. Spray jacket if possible.

There is plenty of room to store extra clothes in case it turns warmer, colder, windier or wetter (be prepared).

RIGID FOOD CONTAINERS, COOLERS AND ESKIES

These items are not permitted aboard as they slide around and damage timberwork and gelcoat when under sail. There is a large fridge onboard. Hard eskies must be unpacked before boarding. Soft eskies are OK. Tupperware style containers are ideal for the fridge. Tea and coffee are complimentary.

STRONG WIND

If the forecast is for over 22 knots on the coast, we normally go for a sail or motor down the Port River. This route is more protected and gives you the added bonus of enjoying the friendly Port River dolphins. In the case of strong wind or storm warnings, we reserve the right to postpone the booking due to unsuitable conditions.

NO SMOKING

Smoking is not permitted aboard 'Breezy'

FOOD & DRINK

Bring your own food and drink or have us cater. Glasses, bottle opener, plates, cutting boards, rubbish bags, cutlery are all provided.
